Could the Apple iCar become a reality?

After mobile phones, tablets, computers, and even processors, will Apple break all barriers and create the (im)possible? After the smallest personal gadgets, the American brand may be about to launch the Apple iCar.

What's coming has to do with cars

That's for sure. The secret ceased to be one months ago, much less now that several sources confirm the same. The Cupertino company is working on something related to cars.

It is not known, however, if the production of the Apple iCar is actually underway. One of the sources that advanced the rumor was The Wall Street Journal. The American newspaper goes further by stating that this project has a code name: Titan.

The truth is that, regardless of what is to come, it is certainly car-related. If it's not the Apple iCar itself seeing the light of day, it's possible that we might see new car software—a kind of "automotive iOS".

A car or the purchase of a car?

This is another question found all over the internet. This is what can be read, for example, in Macworld—which warns of the possibility that Apple is about to buy a car brand.

Although the brand that popularized the iPhone has not yet commented on the matter, the truth is that fewer and fewer doubts remain. Apple is indeed going to venture into the automotive world, producing something that few (or no one) expect.

It is known, however, that several company employees are working on this project. And the truth is that it was Tim Cook himself who, in 2017, hinted that Apple was working on an autonomous driving platform.

If the rumor is confirmed, this could be the next system to rival Tesla's—also equipped with a kind of "autopilot" in its electric cars.

What is certain is that, if the Apple iCar does become a reality, it will belong to the world of electric vehicles—and allow integration with its most well-known devices, such as the iPhone 12, iPads, or Apple Watch.
