Apple já decidiu quando vai lançar dispositivo dobrável... e não é um iPhone! - ISELL & REPAIR

Apple has already decided when it will launch a foldable device... and it's not an iPhone!

Analysts guarantee: Apple will launch its first foldable screen device in 2024. And they add: the choice will be an iPad, not an iPhone!

The news was reported earlier this week by CNBC based on the opinion of analyst Ben Wood from CCS Insight in their annual forecast report, in which the group's analysts make predictions about future products and trends.

Apple prevê lançamento de dispositivo dobrável em 2024

Wood guarantees that "at this moment it makes no sense for Apple to launch a foldable iPhone" given the "very high risk" of damaging the brand's smartphone reputation. The analyst adds that the first versions of foldable phones have suffered from some hardware issues and problems, and the American giant doesn't want to take risks. Furthermore, a foldable iPhone would imply a too high cost for the customer. Therefore, the bet for 2024 will be a foldable screen iPad.

A hybrid between iPhone and iPad

Rumors also suggest that Apple is working with LG to create ultra-thin glass that can be used in these new products. Although there is not yet a prototype or model of what the foldable iPad would look like, analysts bet it will be a hybrid between an iPhone and an iPad.

Apple's strategy would be to use the foldable iPad in 2024 as a practical test to adopt this technology in later iPhone models. It is worth remembering that analyst Ross Young had previously stated that Apple was testing a 20-inch foldable iPad screen, with the prospect of having it available on the market in 2026 or 2027.

In recent years, foldable models have gained market share in the smartphone market, with Samsung leading the way.
