iPhone 12 mini: the return of small screens
Over the years, the inevitable happened: smartphones kept getting bigger. The time when they were (substantially) smaller seems long gone. But that's where the iPhone 12 mini comes in.
Apple immediately unveiled the news. After announcing the iPhone 12, it assured users that a smaller version would soon hit the market—and the truth is that you can already buy it in any store.
Smaller and much more powerful
This is how the iPhone 12 mini introduces itself to the world. Smaller, with square edges and (very) powerful. At first glance, this is the model that most resembles the old iPhone 5, and even the iPhone SE.
The big difference lies in everything else, especially inside. In addition to being thinner and lighter, the iPhone 12 mini features a 5.4-inch Super Retina XDR display.
The difference is significant, especially when compared to the size of the new model (and even the Pro edition). There are now more colors available, namely black, white, green, and blue.

Top-of-the-line features
The features of the iPhone "mini" edition are very similar to the top-of-the-line ones. In its construction, little or nothing changes. The front uses Ceramic Shield, more resistant to drops, while the back is covered with glass and aluminum.
In terms of internal capacity, the iPhone 12 mini comes in three versions:
- 64 GB
- 128 GB
- 256 GB
As is Apple's custom, none of the versions offer memory expansion (via a microSD card). So, if you need more space, perhaps you should consider subscribing to Apple One.
This is an iPhone that, despite being smaller, includes the most powerful and advanced processor: the new A14 Bionic, with Neural Engine.
The camera system is equally powerful. The 12 MP dual camera (ultra-wide-angle + wide-angle) captures the sharpest moments. What reinforces this quality is the number of technologies that Apple has developed (and improved), such as the following:
- Portrait mode with bokeh effect;
- Deep Fusion;
- Night Mode;
- HDR 3;
- True Tone.
In short, this means we are looking at the most advanced camera of all—the same as the iPhone 12.
The iPhone 12 mini brings back Apple's strategy of penetrating other markets. This is currently the brand's cheapest smartphone, which now comes in its best version.
