Got a Samsung? One UI5 has started arriving on smartphones in Portugal

Although it was launched in August, the latest update to the Samsung smartphone interface, based on the Android 13 system, is only now arriving in Portugal. One UI 5 has gradually started to roll out to several mobile devices from the South Korean manufacturer. The first to receive the update were the top-of-the-range models - the Galaxy S22.

This concerns the stable version of Samsung's proprietary interface, version 5.0, based on Google's Android 13 operating system. This is one of the biggest updates to Samsung smartphones and tablets in recent years, with significant changes in terms of functionality, fluidity, stability, productivity, and customization.

What's new in One UI 5?

The new One UI 5, which will gradually arrive on Samsung devices by the end of January 2023, includes many new features that users will love.

Combining your smartphone with your lifestyle is one of One UI 5's goals. Two major new features were created for this purpose. Routines allow users to define workflows for their actions. This will make it possible to automatically adjust settings, notification preferences, apps, and other details, depending on location or time of day. Modes, on the other hand, allow for the creation of customized definitions and settings for different moments of everyday life, from driving mode to exercise mode, not forgetting rest and sleep mode, for example.

Another key new feature is customization, with a lock screen more tailored to the user, with new widgets and the ability to add user and system information.

Finally, the new Bixby Text Call feature stands out, allowing users to communicate in the way that is most convenient for them. Imagine you need to answer a call, but you are in a noisy location. The solution has been found. With Bixby Text Call, you can answer phone calls by typing a message: the platform converts the text into audio and shares it, on your behalf, with the person making the call, in addition to showing what the caller is saying by converting their voice into text.
