It's always one of the most anticipated days for the Apple family. Apple's 2022 Peek Performance revealed everything fans expected: a new iPhone SE 5G is coming, along with a supercomputer and a screen full of innovation.

As has been the case in recent years around this time, the American tech giant revealed all the upcoming news from its headquarters in Cupertino, USA. Rumours had been circulating since last year and were confirmed on the 8th.

Apple lança novo iPhone SE 5G

The new iPhone SE 5G arrives on March 18

Let's start with what everyone wants to know: the new iPhone SE 5G will be available for purchase starting March 18.

But what's new about this iPhone? In addition to the latest generation of mobile communications, this smartphone will now feature the high-performance A15 Bionic chip. Available in three colours - white, black, and red - with this chip, the model will perform faster than all competitors at any price point. According to Francesca Sweet, Apple's product manager, the iPhone SE 5G was "designed to last," with the same glass construction as the iPhone 13 and 13 Pro.

Despite being renewed, the new iPhone still has a "Home" button with a fingerprint reader, features smart capabilities that ensure privacy protection, maintains the photographic styles introduced in the iPhone 13, is water-resistant, and has improved battery life.

This smartphone will be on sale starting from $429. In Portugal, the new iPhone SE 5G will cost 529 euros for the 64 GB model, a more affordable price than previous models.

And Mac? There's plenty of news too

The event also unveiled new features for Mac computers. The fourth version of the M1 chip, the M1 Ultra, was revealed, which the American brand presented as "the most powerful desktop chip ever." According to the company, the Mac Studio will be 3.8 times faster than the Mac Pro. The Mac Studio with M1 Ultra will cost 4649 euros, and the Mac Studio with M1 Max will cost 2349 euros.

Complementing this equipment is also a new monitor: the 27’’ Studio Display with 5K resolution. It includes a 12 MP camera and a system of 6 microphones and 6 speakers. The Apple Studio Display costs 1799 euros.

The first involves the new colours of the iPhone 13. We now have a new colour, green, which can be chosen for the iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13, as well as the Pro and Pro Max. Another new feature is associated with the iPad Air, the new tablet model with an M1 processor that promises to be the perfect choice for a designer or a gamer who wants to fully explore the equipment's capabilities. Finally, noteworthy is the launch, next week, of iOS 15.4. One of the new features is facial recognition via Face ID with a mask and new emojis.
