Energy Farm: a nova quinta sustentável da Apple - ISELL & REPAIR

Energy Farm: Apple's new sustainable farm

The project was approved in 2020, but it is only now nearing completion. Apple's Energy Farm is a sustainable farm, whose main objective is to provide energy for Apple Park—the company's headquarters in Cupertino, California.

The company already knows that once the farm is operational, more than 15 million metric tons of CO₂ will be saved annually—the equivalent of removing more than 3.4 million cars from the roads.

The numbers are impressive and have a very clear objective: to save the planet. This decision is also aligned with the fact that Apple wants to become carbon neutral by 2030.

More sustainable production

Apple's Energy Farm wants to contribute to a better world by reducing the emission of toxic gases into the atmosphere during the manufacturing of its products.

But there's more: in addition to this farm, which is very close to Apple Park, the brand has started investing in renewable energy companies. This way, the company ensures that it is doing everything in its power to reduce its emissions, as well as those of its partners.

The truth is that several of Apple's partners have decided to join the "carbon neutral by 2030" race. The main ones are headquartered in China, Germany, the USA, India, and France.

The effort is, therefore, global. It is now up to each Apple user and customer to try to do the same, hoping to make the world more sustainable—small actions make a difference, such as buying a refurbished iPhone.

Energy Farm with the help of Tesla

Yes, you read that right. Apple is "helped" by Tesla in the Energy Farm, as it uses its "Megapack"—a very powerful set of batteries. According to Apple, the project is so ambitious that it will be able to store enough energy to power more than 7,000 homes.

Although Apple and Tesla may become competitors in the future—as the apple brand is producing an electric car—nothing prevents them from joining forces for a common good now.

Apple's Energy Farm is almost complete and should start operating in the coming days.
