3 amazing new features of the iPhone 14

It had been one of the most anticipated events of the year for several months. There were rumours of what might be coming. Rumours that only whetted the appetite for new proposals and further increased curiosity. Apple promised and delivered: the new iPhone 14 is here!

New iPhone: crash detection, Dynamic Island and much more

It wasn't the only new feature at the event, but it was the most anticipated. The iPhone 14 was presented with some important improvements that are already delighting fans. Although it may seem similar to the previous model, the improvements are present.

The next generation of Apple models will consist of two standard models, the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus, and two high-end models, called iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The new iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max - with 6.1 and 6.7 inches respectively - include an evolution in terms of design, including 3 major new features.

1. Camera changes

This is a new feature designed for photography fans. In the front camera of the new iPhone 14 Pro, TrueDepth technology has an aperture of f/1.9. What does this mean? It means the lens captures more light, significantly improving selfies in dimly lit places. In addition, autofocus technology also stands out, ensuring that the camera can focus on multiple people at a distance.

Additionally, the main camera has 48 megapixels, an aperture of f/1.5, and optical image stabilization.

2. Crash Detection

A new feature designed for serious situations where there is no internet or mobile network: the new iPhone 14 will have the ability to send satellite SOS alerts in emergency situations. The tech giant guarantees that it will be easier for authorities to find someone who is lost if the person asks for help in this way. This new service will be available in November, for now only in the US and Canada, and will be free for two years.

3. Dynamic Island

Called "Dynamic Island", Apple decided to innovate and give even greater utility to the notch. This has become an area dedicated to notifications and other types of information, adaptable to the user. In addition, "Always on Display" was a much-requested feature by Apple fans and is available on the new iPhone 14. It is no longer necessary to always turn on the smartphone to see notifications.

These are three incredible new features of the new iPhone 14, but there are others we can add:

• The new iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max continue to guarantee 1 full day of use, without interruptions and without power loss;
• Existence of a new chip - the A16 Bionic - in the higher models;
• Introduction of an eSim card (only in the USA for now), completely ditching physical cards;

The 6.1-inch iPhone 14 will be available on September 16 and will cost from 1,039 euros in Portugal; the Plus will cost from 1,189 euros and will go on sale on October 7. The Pro model will cost 1,349 euros and the Pro Plus from 1,499 euros. Both will be available from September 16.
